In threes

As things are supposed to come in threes I'd better not order any more yarn. Even though I want to very,very much!

Yesterday I got two cardigans' worth of lusciousness. They were irresistible bargains (but then I would say that wouldn't I?) from Kemps.Organic Merino DK, in Felt - £2.50 a ball. Heaven. Enough for an Assemblage but we'll see what the wool has to say for itself.
Summer cardigan territory here - Soya Cotton DK - the deliciously named 'Tangiers' colourway. I took a ball of this with me on a train journey today for swatching and I am definitely enjoying knitting with it. Thinking about how much I enjoyed knitting it I just nipped off then to Kemps to see whether they still have some. They do. £1.99 a ball. Please, go buy it and save me from myself! Mooncalf I'm looking specifically at you as it's envy induced by your wonder bargains from Kemps that convinced me to go for some this time. Seriously though, I am really pleased with both of these purchases. Sensible amounts of good basics at great prices, even if I don't get this knitted this year they are great yarns to have on hand. It's the new phase of stash acquisition. Grown up greed!

Just to round off the yarn-alanche nicely today my May sock club yarn arrived. This is not grown up greed. This is base self indulgence and totally awesome it is too.Hello merino/cashmere/silk blend. I love you! You're here to stay, no need to hide under the porch.

That sublime soy cotton DK is my favorite. That is what I crocheted my pillow out of and I so enjoyed how the colors came together. Anything by Sublime is sublime to work with.

Lovely yarns! I always think it is great to buy yarns like that when they are a good price, and just think in a couple of months you could have 2 new garments to wear!

Don't tempt me! I have been struggling to resist that Organic Merino in Felt ever since it went up.

I was eyeing it to make an Amelia cardigan.

But I've already accidentally bought some more stash this month. I can't get any more. Even if it is totally gorgeous.

I hadn't bought any yarn in months and then fell down this week. I resisted the Webs sale almost to the end and then couldn't stand it anymore. Your purchases are perfect (and oh, I can't wait to see your Assemblage made out of the grey!)...so much yarny goodness!

Christmas TIME

I've hit the December point known as - "if only there were more time" - I think it about a thousand times a day as I have yet another crazy idea of something to make/cook/do for Christmas. I like to think that if I could just abandon the job for December that I'd get it all done. I'd get more done for sure but it could never be 'all' as the inspiration out there ensures fresh supplies of schemes for wintery delights - like learning to crochet just to make snowflakes or building my own snow village or... well I'm sure you all get the idea and have a billion things bubbling over that you'll never quite get to. So it's prioritise like crazy, craft for sanity (and if it is as simple as wrapping some berries and mistletoe round a heart shaped wreath - jump for joy) and I try to remember that seeing the people I'm making the presents for is the most important thing of all! I don't think I'll be back here before I head down to the wilds
