What a Yarn - knitcroblo7

When I think of yarns I've used and loved it's always the sock yarns that spring to mind (most recently Alchemy Juniper has really stood out as an amazing combination of softness and durability) but there is one amazing yarn in my stash that I have never used.
It's a beautiful luxury cashmere and silk blend from Jade Sapphire which I won from the lovely Gosia of Stitchville way back in 2007. It is the jewel in the crown of the stash. A yarn I would walk over hot coals for but it's very beauty means I just cannot decide what pattern to choose for it. I've been confident that something would one day jump out at me but so far nothing has seemed quite right. There are two things I know for certain about its destiny though. It will be a scarf and it will be a scarf for me!

I know what you mean - when you have such a special yarn you want to pick *the* right pattern for it! So hard!!

What a gorgeous color! When I have a yarn that is so beautiful, I usually start thinking in terms of plain stitches, just because I don't want the pattern to distract from the yarn itself :)

ooh i think we all have one of those. Mine was my Helen's Lace that eventually became icarus, after a year of wondering and worrying.

I just wound up my "walk over hot coals for" yarn and cast on 2 different things -both of which I don't like. It's like the yarn is TOO perfect to be anything by that gorgeous skein>

Christmas TIME

I've hit the December point known as - "if only there were more time" - I think it about a thousand times a day as I have yet another crazy idea of something to make/cook/do for Christmas. I like to think that if I could just abandon the job for December that I'd get it all done. I'd get more done for sure but it could never be 'all' as the inspiration out there ensures fresh supplies of schemes for wintery delights - like learning to crochet just to make snowflakes or building my own snow village or... well I'm sure you all get the idea and have a billion things bubbling over that you'll never quite get to. So it's prioritise like crazy, craft for sanity (and if it is as simple as wrapping some berries and mistletoe round a heart shaped wreath - jump for joy) and I try to remember that seeing the people I'm making the presents for is the most important thing of all! I don't think I'll be back here before I head down to the wilds

Elle est fini :o) My little beret has finally made it over the finishing line. The peloton have long since disbanded so I can't claim any colour jersey for this but I loved being part of the knitalong so I'm really just pleased I wasn't months behind.
