A gaggle?

What would the collective noun for a gang of gorgeous garter stitch projects be? As I cruise softly along the rows of my Sunstruck many other colourful garter stitch accessories are catching my eye and auditioning for the role of the next project to be cast on.

Veera Välimäki is possibly the most popular proponent of the stripey garter stitch shawl or scarf design, her Color Affection and Stripe Study have thousands of renditions to pore over on Ravelry. The smaller Bolt which she has designed for the latest Wool People collection is definitely calling to me:

The Brooklyn Tweed yarns perform well in these simple, graphic designs which really showcase the yarn you use and I'm still hankering after my first try of that woolly goodness and these scalloped lines:

The designer of my current shawl is tempting me with other designs such as this stole:
All the Shades of Truth by Laura Aylor
and this shawl:
Derecho by Laura Aylor
I'm not sure why this post is looking so fifty shades of grey at the moment as I'm definitely dreaming of COLOUR combinations for these new passions. Here's a little colour and a pattern that is piquing my curiosity:
Foolproof by Louise Zass-Bangham
I might have to go for this cowl next as the pattern description is so intriguing: "How about a cowl with no casting on & no binding off? It’s made in rows but ends up all in one piece. There’s no knitting in the round, no sewing, no grafting, no provisional cast-on, no picking up stitches. Promise."

Delights in store wherever the knitting path next wends its way.

Haha, every single one of those patterns is in my queue already I think! Except for Derecho, but I am working on a crochet version of it, heh!

I love all those designs. I am on my second "Colour Affection" shawl and I don't expect it will be my last. There is so much that you can do with garter stitch, I love it.
