Santa Claus is Coming!

I'm so glad it's December - my self imposed no mention of Christmas ban is lifted! I'm so excited this year, I don't quite know why the magic is stronger some years than others, maybe it's just having enough time and energy to enjoy the fun and not feel like it's lots of work?
I feel like I'm in control of the Christmas knits (we're still at the illusion stage). A few are done - like those rocking red socks - and most are on their way like this version of Dreamcatcher's Skye Rib Hat in a good Christmassy green shade of Malabrigo. I'm making this for the Secret Santa swap at work, I pulled out a colleague who has been begging for a hand knit - serendipitous!
The decorations came down from the loft last night and though we can't get our tree till the weekend some things went up. Last years pompom garland was a lot more fun to make than to untangle this year, come January 6th I must be in less of a hurry to just get the stuff down!
I do love the memories that come out of the box with the things. Saying hello to old friends is such a lovely part of the decorating.

You make me want to pull down the Christmas decorations right now! We're waiting till Sunday to decorate, which is late for us, but we've been so focused on finishing the nursery.
Love your pictures!

I suddenly realised we were not at all organised! desperately trying to find a christmas tree today. I love your pom pom shot - great photo
Hi Sarah --
I laughed at your comment about not being in a hurry to take down decorations -- because it's sure not fun untangling the mess the following year. We spent yesterday decorating. Everything was literally thrown in different boxes. I couldn't find anything I needed. Right now, I'm blaming my husband because he put everything away last year. Looks like I need to supervise this year! Or better yet, I'll just do it myself. I wish I was in on your work's gift exchange. I'm sure your knitted creation will be lovely.

Sigh! I love Christmas and I will so miss having a tree this year! I am almost finished my sweater but I am not knitting anything for anyone, regrettably I have no time this year. Work is dreadful!
